Go Woo!

It is easy to miss the small Tibetan knick-knack shop on Sanlitun's busy Bar Street. Set back from the road, and no bigger than the average storefront, it's a colorful slice of Shangrila among the mind-numbingly similar Western restaurants and bars that line the road.

Opened late last year by artist You Tao, a native of southwest China's Sichuan province, Angel Shop is a cornucopia of Tibetan treasures. Every available space is covered with jewelry, masks, carpets, wood carvings, art and as well as other curios from Nepal, India, and as far afield as Africa.

The colorful and lively jewelry includes Tibetan bracelets ranging in cost from RMB30-RMB80, and religious amulets for around RMB100. Necklaces that come in a variety of materials and shapes range from RMB40-RMB80. Wood carvings from Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria cost around RMB60 each.

If you're in the mood for some spiritual shopping, or just looking for a unique gift for a special friend, perambulate over to Sanlitun's Angel Shop.

Angel Shop is located at No. 88 Sanlitun Bar Street, Chaoyang District (near the 24-hour store)
