Cell Phone Numbers Get Longer on July 22 Mobile phone usage is increasing so rapidly that China Telecom has run out of numbers.

To make room for yet more subscribers, all numbers starting with 135, 136, 137, 138 and 139 will take a Œ0¹ as the fourth digit.

For example, 139-333-7856 becomes 139-0333-7856.
